Dentoy Revillar® Final Wishes for Trademark

Dentoy Revillar® is registered trademark, USPTO Reg. No. 7,561,165, owned by Micheal R. Lohmeier. All rights reserved. Unauthorized use, including brand names, logos, images, or training materials, is/are strictly prohibited.  This is the official site for Dentoy Revillar® and the Filipino Martial Art he developed, commonly referred to as 'SLD Escrima'. Dentoy Revillar® (hereinafter as 'Dentoy') anticipated that, after his passing, some individuals may attempt to exploit his identity, images, and art for personal gain.  Claiming association with him, stating he was their teacher, or adopting his style of Eskrima without any legitimate association and/or authorization. To prevent this, he entrusted Mr. Lohmeier, along with a few of his instructors, with the task of trademarking his namesake and retaining his history and Escrima legacy.

This step was taken to protect his reputation and the process he followed in teaching Eskrima, and the immense amount of time and effort he invested over this lifetime in developing his Eskrima methods, processes, and educational materials. By securing the trademark in his namesake, to his commonly used identity, "Dentoy Revillar", it would ensure his legitimate instructors could maintain control over how the quality of the use of his name is preserved.  It also ensures the integrity and safeguarding of his contributions made to the Filipino Martial Arts communities are made are provided in an honest manner for future generations.

The process began while Dentoy was alive in 2022.  In 2024, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued the Trademark for "Dentoy Revillar", herein referred as Dentoy Revillar®.
